Vida broke the Gordian knot with an elusive header
AEK faced great resistance from Aris but managed to open the scoring just before the hour mark when Vida beat Questa with a header from a corner to give Union the advantage.
In the game against Aris at the OPAP Arena on matchday 13 of the Stoiximan Super League, AEK was trapped by the Thessalonians’ excellent defense for a long time, but in the 59th minute they managed to break the Gordian knot.
This was done through set pieces, with Petro Mandalo taking a corner from the right and Domagoy Vida being in the right place at the right time to send the header into the right corner of Cuesta’s goal, making it 1-0 to Matias Almeida’s team in the 59th minute.
