In the person of David Nielsen, Kifisia found the successor to Yiannis Anastasiou in the technical leadership, whose recruitment the team from the northern suburbs announced.
Kifisia officially switches sides. The Northern Suburbs team announced the hiring of David Nielsen, who is the successor to Yiannis Anastasiou.
The 47-year-old Danish coach was on the bench at Stromgondget (2014-15), Lyngby (2015-17) and Aarhus, where he played 184 games and left in the summer of 2022.
Kifissia is in last place with eight points after 13 games, the same as PAS Ioannina.
The announcement from Kifissia:
“PAE Kifisia announces the start of collaboration with David Nielsen, who takes over the technical leadership of our team.
David Nielsen was born on December 1, 1976 in Skagen, Denmark and had a great career as a footballer in Denmark, Germany, England and Norway.
After completing his sports career, he began a coaching career, initially with Lev Ham in Norway, where he worked as an assistant for six months. From 2011 to 2013 he worked as both an assistant and head coach at Nest-Sotra, while in 2014 he moved to Strömsgondget. He worked there for a season and a half, first as an assistant and then as head coach.
In 2015, he made the decision to return to Denmark to take charge of Lyngby, which he managed for just over a year, winning the B Division title and gaining promotion to the Danish Superliga.
The great work he did in Lyngby was the foundation for the move to Aarhus, where he was hired on October 30, 2017.
He stayed with the historic Danish club for five years and led them to great success in the Danish Superliga. In particular, in 2019/20 he celebrated 3rd place with Aarhus in the championship and participation in the Europa League qualifiers the following season, while in 2020/21 he reached 4th place and participation in the Europa Conference League. Qualifying games secured the next season.
We welcome him to the Kifissia family and wish him health, happiness and many successes.”
