According to the Portuguese, Costinia is close to Olympiakos
Olympiacos has once again turned its attention to the Portuguese market, with Record noting that the Red and Whites want to acquire 23-year-old Costinia, just off Rio Ave.
After the hiring of Pedro Alves as sports director and Carlos Carvalhal as technical director of Olympiakos, it was logical and expected that the Piraeus team would show interest in the Portuguese market again. In fact, the media in Portugal is concerned with possible transfer targets for the Red and Whites with a view to January, but also with the prospect of the summer.
The Record newspaper reported in the last hours that Olympiacos intends to move Costinias from Rio Ave. to take over. “Kostinias close to Olympiakos” is the title of the report, which emphasizes that the Piraeus team can make the player theirs instead of 2.5 million euros. The Portuguese link the Costinias case with the entry of the owner of PAE Olympiacos, Vangelis Marinakis, in Rio Ave, of which he is expected to take 80% of the shares.
The Portuguese footballer is 23 years old, plays on the right side, is under contract with Rio Ave until the summer of 2026 and according to Record, the player could be banned from Olympiakos from the winter, although with the prospect of a summer move on the roster.
Costinha made his first footballing steps in Porto’s academy, then moved to Braga’s and, at the age of 17, joined Rio Ave’s U19 team. The Portuguese has 15 appearances, four goals and two assists in the league and cup this season and plays on the right in Luis Freire’s 3-4-3 formation. Despite his young age, Costinia has 99 appearances, 10 goals and 10 assists for Rio Ave.
