Asteras Tripolis announced in a statement that it was not taking part in the no-confidence motion process, arguing that the problem at the moment is not the head of the Super League, but the issue of violence that affects everyone.

Shortly before the start of the board meeting of the Super League, where, among other things, the motion of no confidence against Vangelis Marinakis was discussed, Asteras Tripoli announced in a statement that it was not taking part in the process and that the problem was currently not with the head of the Super League but that The issue of violence concerns everyone.

“The problem at the moment is not the face of the head of the Super League, but the issue of violence in the stadiums, which of course affects EVERYONE and not one team or one person.”

The subject of the motion of censure is currently distracting from the main problem, which is ONLY to deal with the phenomenon of violence in the stadiums. Opening such an issue now not only does not solve the matter, but also makes it even more difficult to deal with.

Therefore, we are not taking part in this process.

And we call on all sides to really counter the phenomenon of violence in the stadiums with calm and substantial measures.”
