Finally, Thanasis Staikos from PAS Ioannina
A day after the heavy defeat against Kifissia, Thanasis Staikos said goodbye to the PAS Ioannina players and wrote the epilogue about the presence on the Epirot bench.
It was known from the start that Thanasis Staikos was playing his position in the game against Kifissia. The heavy defeat against the newcomers was therefore the swansong of the 43-year-old technician on the bench of PAS Ioannina, as confirmed on Sunday morning, December 17th.
And that’s because Thanasis Staikos went to the PAS Ioannina training center to inform the players of his departure and greet them individually. In any case, he had foreseen the developments during Kaisariani’s press conference.
Thanasis Staikos worked at PAS Ioannina for two and a half years (one year as assistant to Iraklis Metaxas and one and a half years as head coach) and played 49 games as head coach with 8 wins, 18 draws and 23 losses.
Therefore, PAS Ioannina begins the search for a successor, as there is a very crucial game ahead of us in the 2023 competitive season, namely the one against Panaitolikos in Epirus.
