Mistakes are paid for, but it seems that Panathinaikos has not learned from them, and after what it did in the European games, it has now started giving “gifts” in the Stoiximan Super League games, such as on Sunday against Atromitos Peristeri.

The home team took full advantage of the situation, scoring three goals and achieving a victory, although there was a surprise as the shamrock had been in front of the goal in the 38th minute of the game against Ioannidis.

Then a mistake by Brignoli in the 45+2 minute and a total of two more in the second half gave the defense of Panathinaikos and the Italian goalkeeper Atromitos a 3-1 lead.

The only thing the Greens managed to do was reduce the score shortly before the end of the game with another penalty from Ioannidis. However, the Greek striker’s goal wasn’t enough and the game ended with Atromitos forcing Panathinaikos to a 2-3 defeat.

At the same time, Huancar had to leave the pitch due to knee problems, and the Greens were able to safely prevent the Spanish full-back from being seriously injured.

Four changes to the green lineup

Panathinaikos competed in Peristeri with four changes to the lineup compared to Maccabi Haifa. Brignoli, Kotsiras, Pereth and Mancini returned to the starting eleven in place of Lodingin, Vagiannidis, Arao and Aitor. Ivan Jovanovic made three changes in the 68th minute, playing with a duo in attack Sporar – Ioannidis to turn the game around. However, for twenty minutes, Panathinaikos failed to build phases and reduce the score to get back into the game.

The referee continued the game, but the VAR asked him to look at the phase again and in the end he changed his decision and showed the white arrow. Ioannidis took over again, defeated Tsintotas for the second time and reduced the score to 3-2.
