Official end of Staikos from PAS Ioannina, first training with Grigoriou

PAE PAS Ioannina announced the termination of the collaboration with Thanasis Staikos, while Michalis Grigoriou already completed his first training session with the Epirotes.

Thanasis Staikos is officially a thing of the past from PAS Ioannina’s bench, as the Ioannina team has announced the termination of cooperation with him.

His successor will be Michalis Grigoriou, as only the official announcement remains. The team conducted its first training session with him.

Mr. Staikos took over the technical management of the team in June 2022 and under his leadership PAS Ioannina finished 9th in the Super League standings, while in the 2021-22 season he made his name with the team’s amazing development and entry into the Super League associated playoffs.

A few minutes later, PAS Ioannina PAS announced Grigoriou’s hiring: PAE PAS Ioannina 1966 announces the start of collaboration with Michalis Grigoriou.

Michalis Grigoriou was born on December 19, 1973 and played as a footballer for National Piraeus, AEL, Xanthi, Naoussa, Chaidari and Agios Dimitrios.

His coaching career began with the team where he hung up his boots in the 2003/04 season: Agios Dimitrios. In January 2005 he took over as coach of Athens, with whom he completed the 2004/05 season. He then sat on the bench at Fostiras Tavros (2005-2007) and from one year at Aeoliko Mytilini (2007-08), PAS Corinth (2008-09), National Piraeus (2009-10) and Doxa Drama (2010). – 11).

In January 2012 he took over as coach at Panseraikos,[10] in which until the end of the 2012-13 season. In the summer of 2013 he became coach of Corfu, where he remained until the summer of 2015. This year he took over the technical management of Atromitos, which he left in November 2016. In the summer of 2016 he returned to the island of the Phaeacians for Corfu and the presence there brought him again to Athens on behalf of Panionius. In Nea Smyrni he stayed as head of the Neosmyrniotes and in Europe for a year before leaving at the end of the 2017/18 season.

In the summer of 2019 he sat on the AEL bench. He remained in Larissa until November 2020, while in December of the same year he sat on the Lamia bench until February 2022. His last job was Ionikos, which he took over in January 2023.

Our team’s new coach counts a total of 511 appearances in all professional categories, 202 of which were at Super League level. At the same time, he coached both Panionios and Atromitos in Europa League qualifying games.

His direct partner will be Nikos Panagiotaras, while the team’s technical team, together with Michalis Grigoriou, will consist of the gymnast Giannis Georgiadis, the goalkeeping coach, Kostas Paganias, who was again in the team in the 2012/13 season, and Nikos Iosifidis, the who will, pass the role of the analyst.
