PSAPP: “Football without an audience has no right to exist”
The PSAPP, in its post on social media, expressed its opposition to the Stoiximan Super League matches being held behind closed doors.
The 14th matchday of the Stoiximan Super League was played without fans due to government measures against fan violence.
The PSAPP (Panhellenic Association of Paid Footballers) pointed this out in its post on social media and emphasized that football has no right to exist without an audience.
“Empty platforms, silent stadiums, frozen emotions, no pulse. Football without its audience cannot exist, it cannot offer, it has no reason to exist.
There is no logical explanation for the state’s actions. At least from our side we cannot understand them, even more so we cannot believe that they contribute to the elimination of violence. You never fight anything by punishing those who are not responsible.
And what should we say to little Giannakis, Euthymis, Antonis and thousands of other children for whom football gives meaning in life? How should we answer the millions of healthy fans of the king of sport who “live” for Sunday? That the evil ones have beaten us?” says PSAPP in his post.
