Atromitos – Olympiacos 0-0: He failed to pass the block in Peristeri and lost ground

Olympiakos lost ground in the hunt for the top as the red and whites drew 0-0 against Atromitos on matchday 15 of the Stoiximan Super League. The Piraeus had the most chances, the Peristerians stood their ground.

The match

From the first minutes, Olympiacos was the one who owned the ball. Olympiacos continued to have possession, moving and trying to find the gap in Atromitos’ defense from the wings. The home team’s best moment in the first half was Jubitana’s misdirected header in the 27th minute.

Carvalhal, looking to strengthen his team in midfield, put Pontense behind El Kaabi while Masoura played on the right. Olympiacos ended the first part with ten finals appearances, but without finding their way into the net.

In the second half, Carvalhal replaced Brinic with Jovetic to make his team more aggressive. In the 48th minute, Montenegro threatened with a shot from outside the penalty area. Peristeriotes had a great chance to score in the 53rd minute. Jubitana made the turn from the right, Valencia shot from close range, Paschalakis found the ball, which hit the crossbar.

In the 69th minute, Jovetic played a vertical pass to El Kaabi, who shot from a difficult corner on the left side of the penalty area, but Tsidotas saved. Olympiacos scored another goal in the 75th minute when Retsu’s header from a corner hit the crossbar.

The guests continued at the same pace. They had the ball, moved and tried to find the chance. In the 79th minute, Podense grabbed the ball, went into the penalty area, but could not score. The Portuguese had another chance in the 84th minute, but the ball went wide again. Olympiakos Piraeus couldn’t find a solution until the final whistle, Atromitos held on and the score remained 0-0 until the final.
