The shifts are causing a problem in the Olympiacos and PAOK calendars

The postponements of the games AEK – PAOK and Olympiakos – Asteras caused serious problems in the calendar. The definition of the two games is unknown, the red-and-white and biceps program is full.

The corona virus has caused alalum in the Super League Interwetten. The situation that developed in the 17th game of the championship is telling. The virus that finally attacked the teams only allowed two games. The OFI – PAS Giannina draw and the game on Sunday (9/1) between Panathinaikos and Volos (01.09., 5:15 pm, Cosmote Sport 2 HD, LIVE on Sportish).

Otherwise all other games were postponed, as well as two from the last game. The derby between AEK and PAOK and the game between Olympiacos and Asteras in Karaiskakis are particularly outstanding. Dikefalos and the red and whites are affected by the coronavirus and therefore cannot fight.

Problem for Olympiakos and PAOK

However, for Olympiakos and PAOK, the problem caused by the coronavirus is pretty important. The two teams will wait for the postponed games to be defined, but it’s a … strong solver equation. The Red-Whites and Dikefalos play in three tournaments (Super League Interwetten, Greek Cup and Europe), so their schedule is full with several games during the week.

As for Olympiacos, the program will be “caught” until at least February 6th. Defining the game with Asteras on Wednesday (12/1) is extremely difficult due to the situation, while the quarter-finals of the Greek Cup complete the calendar.

Should Martins’ team make it to the institution’s semifinals, they will even have to wait until March, as the two Europa League games against Atalanta will be added to the already strained program. The regular season ends on March 6th, while it has matches in the round of 16 on March 10th when it overtakes the Italian team.

The same situation applies to PAOK. The postponed biceps game with Panetolikos was scheduled for Wednesday (December 1st), which is doubtful. From then on there is no longer an empty date for Dikefalos until March. Even if they don’t qualify for the Greek Cup semi-finals, AEK will make it so February will be canceled due to Dikefalos’ presence in the Europa Conference League. The situation can clearly drag on until mid-March if Dikefalos succeeds in moving into the 16.

Of course, the coronavirus is still there and the problem gets worse when there are postponements in other games on both teams. It remains to be seen how the decisions will be made and when the AEK-PAOK and Olympiakos – Asteras games will be finally defined. At the same time, apart from these games, there will be other postponed games in January and possibly February where the organizing authority will be asked to join the program.
