Mitoglou: “Every degree matters if you want to become a star”
Simos Mitoglou told NOVA that the defeats affected AEK as every point is important for a team that wants to play a leading role and also referred to the atmosphere that reigned in the dressing room after home defeats to OFI and Panetolikos.
Simos Mitoglou in his statements to NOVA regarding the match between AEK and Atromitos in Peristeri (23/1, 17:15, NOVASPORTS 2HD, LIVE Sportish) emphasized that his team showed a very good performance in the first match of the Greek Cup against PAOK.
At the same time, he emphasized that the atmosphere in the dressing rooms was a bit heavy after defeats by OFI and Panetolikos, but with hard work and in the service of the coaching plan, they played properly. At the same time, he referred to the point losses that Union had in the Super League Interwetten in relation to those of Olympiakos in the first games of 2022.
Details of what Simos Mitoglou told NOVA: For the game with PAOK: “Our effort was very good. We did our best. I think we could have scored. We have the second game in OAKA and we will fight to the end“.
For the climate in the changing rooms: “After the defeat we concentrated more and worked harder. We spoke to the coach and followed his plan. We joined PAOK, now we have Atromitos and we want to do our best in every game“.
Because 4/5 of the defense (along with Tsintotas) in the game against PAOK was Greek: “We had good cooperation. It was easier because we spoke the same language, we could direct what we wanted to say more easily“.
On whether there is bitterness in not closing the gap with Olympiacos despite the Red-Whites losing points: “Of course, each degree plays a role in when you want to play along. Things happened that way and we can’t change anything. We are now looking to the future“.
For playing with Atromitos: ” It’s going to be a difficult game. It has a good home and a very good team. We will go there ready with our plan to give 100%“.
Because Atromitos has changed coaches and needs points: “Because like you said, he wants points. I think he will play with more passion and more power. We will be ready to face them“.
