Nioplias: “The game was judged on our slow start”
Nikos Nioplias expressed his disappointment at OFI’s home defeat by Panetolikos and in his statements after the final emphasized, among other things, that his players’ slow start had cost his team.
Panaitolikos got the double in Heraklion and defeated OFI 4:2 in a match that lasted until the final. The Cretans suffered a home defeat after 3-0 at Toumba by PAOK, with Nikos Nioplias attributing the result of the game to his side’s slow start.
Details of what he said on camera at Cosmote TV:
For OFI Opportunities: “We’ve had a lot of finals, but we didn’t start well. If you don’t start well with a team like that, which comes with psychology, because they’ve achieved positive results, you’re giving yourself room to breathe. If we had taken the penalty maybe it would have been different . The whole game was judged on our slow start.”
Sequel follows: “Football goes on and life goes on. We’ll try to be different in the next game.”
