The liberation of Spata started early in the morning, Giannikis and Dimitriadis were the first to leave
Argyris Giannikis, Vassilis Dimitriadis and about ten AEK employees started leaving the training center in Spata just before 09:00.
The severe storm wave that swept across Greece caused terrible problems, AEK being a very case in point as half the team endured incredible suffering on two fronts.
piEleven football players and staff were trapped on the street for four hours, left the training camp, finally, after hard work and suffering, managed to reach the “Holiday Inn” hotel, having left their cars on Attiki Odos. About ten members of the team spent the night at Spata, including Argyris Giannikis and his direct collaborators and five other collaborators.
On Tuesday morning (January 25), just before 9 a.m., the Union coach, Argyris Giannikis, the director of the football department, Vassilis Dimitriadis and the other staff started with difficulties to leave the training center. Giannikis and Demitriadis went first and undertook to give the others directions for the situation they found and the route they had to follow.
