Tsingaras, Italy and the midfield data from PAOK
The alleged interest of Italian sides in the loan of young central midfielder Haris Tsingara brings the Augusto and Kurtic cases back to the fore.
The reports in Italy that Sampdoria and Bologna are monitoring Haris Tsingaras add a new dimension to the opportunities that exist in PAOK’s midfield axis.
According to them, the scenario promoted by the Italian teams is the loan of the young midfielder two-headed with a release clause for his rights at €3m next summer.
Tsingaras, who celebrated his birthday a few days ago, hasn’t been included in Razvan Lucescu’s selection until now as he has been plagued by stomach problems since last season.
The 22-year-old midfielder only started regular training yesterday (22/08) and was made available to the Romanian coach after an absence of around 20 days.
“Burning” Augusto’s contract, the dates with Kurtic
The truth is that after Levski’s exclusion and with Augusto and Kurtic near the exit door, Tsigaras seemed like a solution for the Romanian coach.
With days before the transfer deadline for most leagues, the facts seem to have finally changed again.
Yasmin Kurtic hasn’t received the offers he expected from Italy and everything shows that his contract with PAOK, which expires at the end of the season, is about to expire. In fact, Sampdoria, who is said to be interested in Tsingara, was one of those dealing with the Slovenia midfielder’s case.
On the other hand, the situation is also confusing for Douglas Augusto, who, like Kurtic, was a starter in the championship premiere. As PAOK haven’t received a financially satisfactory offer for the Brazilian, he needs to renew his contract.
And that’s because if he doesn’t, it gives him the right to sign as a free agent with another team in a couple of months. However, negotiations with Augusto’s team are not an easy task as the player’s demands are particularly high. This inevitably leaves all options open in his own case.
The possibility of Tsingaras and the flowing landscape on the axis
Of great interest in this context would be Dikefalos’ reaction to a possible loan proposal from Haris Tsingaras with the prospect of granting it next summer for 3 million euros.
What is certain is that the situation in PAOK’s midfield is still fluid and logically will remain so until the end of the transfer window. So if PAOK are looking to sign another midfielder, they should be ready to fill a central midfield position – if necessary.
