Jovanovic relies on the homogeneity of Panathinaikos in the 2/2 against OFI
With the traditional 4-2-3-1 but due to the absences with Sarlia – Pougoura as a duo in the center of defence, Panathinaikos will look for the double in Gendi Koule to double his victories in the new Super League championship.
Panathinaikos owe some of their cold blood in Heraklion last year and in tonight’s (21:00, COSMOTE SPORT 1 HD, LIVE by Sportish) match against OFI they will look for a way to… repay the outstanding debt.
Apart from the opposing referees they met in the Ghendi Koule, the Greens tore down in a few minutes what they had consistently built up until the 85th minute, playing with one player less and conceding two goals in the end of the game and losing to the hosts (3-2). Then the defeat and especially the path was very annoying, regardless of whether they didn’t cost any points during the season.
The trap is back, in the same place, and Panathinaikos are called upon to avoid it while doubling their new league successes after beating Ionian 1-0 last Sunday. In order for this to succeed, consistency, duration and efficiency are required against an opponent who was too slow in transfers and is still being sought on the field, but can expect dynamics at home.
The possible line-up of Panathinaikos against OFI
Ivan Jovanovic will not try anything other than what he has been working on for a long time. Except that instead of the injured Senkefeld and Magnuson in central defence, he has to rely on the duo of Sarlia and Pungura.
From then on, Brignoli will be in goal, Kotsiras and Huancar at the two ends of the back four, Pereth and Kourbelis form the duo in front of the box (while Sotiris Alexandropoulos is already in Lisbon to complete his transfer to Sporting) and Cerin will play a freer role to accept, carry and distribute the ball.
In attack, Sporar, who played a catalytic role in Leoforos’ winning debut by winning the penalty spot, will be flanked by Palacios and Aitor as Verbic is expected to eventually come off the bench and gradually increase his playing time in the starting XI-up clover.
The show includes in total: Brignoli, Lodigin, Xenopoulos, Vaiannidis, Juancar, Ruben, Ioannidis, Sporar, Ganea, Sanchez, Tserin, Kourbelis, Aitor, Sideras, Kotsiras, Sarlia, Palasios, Poungouras, Xavier, Verbich, Frokou and Campetsis
Of course, the unprepared Bernard, who needs time to adjust to the environment and philosophy, was left out.
