Olympiacos are in contact with Danish central midfielder Oliver Abildgaard
Olympiacos are eyeing Danish central midfielder Oliver Abilgaard, 26, to fill in the gaps left by Mandy Kamara, who will continue at Roma, and Kane, on loan at Paphos.
Olympiacos are – as already mentioned – in negotiations to bring in a central midfielder, on the one hand because of Mandy Kamara’s transfer to Roma and on the other hand to bring in a player who will support Embilas like Kane was at Paphos on loan.
According to information from abroad, Olympiacos are in contact with Oliver Abildgaard, who belongs to Rubin Kazan. The towering (1.92m) Danish footballer is 26 years old and plays in positions 6 and 8. He is the type of player Corberan wants at Olympiakos and Piraeus PAE are considering his case.
Abildgaard is left-footed, quite strong, runs, shoots from long range and is good at high play and with the ball on the ground.
Abildgaard has a contract with Rubin Kazan – a team Inbom Huang used to play for – until the summer of 2024 and his market value is currently €7,000,000.
Interest has reportedly been shown in his takeover of Olympiacos, Cremonese, Anderlecht and Werder Bremen in England (he was considered by Nottingham Forest sometime in the summer) and Russia.
The Danish midfielder started his career in Aalborg’s infrastructure department, playing in the first team (91 games, 4 goals, 3 assists) and moving to Rubin Kazan in 2020 (62 games, 1 goal, 5 assists). He makes one appearance for the Denmark national team in the game against Sweden in November 2020.
By the way, in Spain insist on Olympiacos’ contacts with Villarreal for Manu Morlanes, who is more of an attacking midfielder.
