Donation from residents of Super League 2 PAE to Crete’s earthquake victims
Super League 2 together with the teams were next to the earthquake victims and made a donation of five settlements in the presence of government officials.
As part of the social responsibility programs of Super League 2, they were welcomed on Friday (4/2) by President Leonidas Leoutsakos and the league representatives Mr Nikolidaki (PAE Episkopi), Papadimitriou (PAE Herodotos), Rokaki (PAE Chania), Toutzari (PAE Ergotelis), Charouli (PAE OF Ierapetra), the five houses – donated by PAE SL2, in the presence of government officials.
“We genuinely would like to be here for happy reasons. But in addition to the easy and the offer, the sport also combines the difficult, solidarity is what distinguishes us. That’s why the 34 PAE SL2 decided to take this step.” Amongst others, the President of SL2, Mr. Leoutsakos, underlined and added:
“We definitely thank the Government and especially the Deputy Sports Minister Mr Lefteris Avgenakis for the help we get through the betting percentage and we can then help our fellow people in need like the residents of the area after the catastrophic earthquake.”
After receiving the houses, four of which were delivered to the village of Partira and one to the village of Steronas, the Mayor of Minoa – Pediada Manolis Fraggakis, after thanking the President and the representatives of SL2, emphasized: “This is and should be the true face of football and not what we are witnessing in recent days.” He then invited Super League 2 to visit Crete again and organize a new action to help the earthquake victims.
