AEK B’ – Panathinaikos B’ 0-1: Double with Tsirigoti the Clover
Panathinaikos B defeated AEK B 1-0 in OAKA, with Tsirigotis being the game’s goalscorer in a game where the hosts were better but failed to convert their chances.
Panathinaikos B won 1-0 against AEK B in OAKA on Wednesday afternoon (16.2), with the Greens earning an informal rematch for their first-round loss on the Avenue after their dominance.
The only goal of the game was scored by Tsirigotis, who capitalized on a mistake in AEK’s defense, and that goal was enough for Panathinaikos to earn the win over top AEK.
The hosts were the ones who played better in the first half, threatening Christogeorgos’ goal but failing to put the ball in the net. The hosts threatened Giousis and Kosidis twice in a minute and specifically in the 15th and 16th minutes, but Christogheorgos blocked them twice. In the 28th minute, Garcia made a nice move when the ball went wide. AEK could have threatened in the 38th minute when Radonia made the cross, Kosidis couldn’t take the header and sent it into the net.
Ofridopoulos’ players came into play strongly in the second half and with 49 minutes Kosidis made the energy when Robbie cut him off, while a minute later Youssi’s shot was blocked again by Christogeorgos.
Panathinaikos managed to score in his second final in the game. In the 78th minute of the game, Karvounis tried to make the vertical pass to Tsirigotis, where Giannoutsos fell for the tackle, but he couldn’t follow the ball, Clover’s forward took it, went into the penalty area and defeated the AEK goalkeeper with a place 0-1.
AEK could have equalized by the end of the game but were unlucky in the 85th minute when Youssi’s volley through the box shook Christogeorgos’ left bar.
