Ariel Ibagasa stressed the importance of showing the second-team kids a player like Costas Fortounis to play with them after Olympiacos II’s win over Trikala.

Costas Fortounis returned to action from his injury in the summer and scored in Olympiakos B”s win over Trikala. In his statements, Ariel Ibagasa emphasized that it is important for second-team players to see such a player and get things from him.

Ibagasa’s statements in detail:

“We are happy about the victory after the defeat in Thessaloniki. It’s important to win after losing because it’s good for you mentally. That had to “get up” quickly. In the first half we didn’t get much intensity, we didn’t have much rhythm. The goal came from a phase where we’re going to press high, the ball goes to Fortounis’ feet and from there Costas does what he’s used to to end the phase with a very nice goal.

The second goal should have come earlier, we’re too late to settle the game. At the beginning of the second half we were down a player, but the team was still very good both defensively and offensively. “After the second goal we calmed down and could have scored at least one more goal.”

For the return of Costas Fortounis: “We’re all very happy because he came back, he was good, he scored. He came to play with the U23s, which is very important for the kids to see a player like that play with them and things from him to get.”

For the sequel: “We keep working, on Saturday we have a difficult away game against AEL. The goal is always to improve, that’s our program. In every game we have to get better and learn from our mistakes.”
