AEL terminated Akounias’ contract
AEL announced that it has terminated its cooperation deal with Matias Akounias, announcing that the player has committed serious disciplinary offences.
AEL announced that the contract with Matias Akounias was terminated on Thursday (February 17). The Maroons report that the player behaved unprofessionally towards the coaches.
The 29-year-old Uruguayan has been playing for AEL since winter 2021. He has made 20 appearances in all competitions this year, scoring five goals and providing two assists.
AEL’s announcement in detail:
“Due to a series of very serious disciplinary offenses and totally unprofessional behavior towards coaches (Francesco – Fintani – Goutsidis) and their staff, footballers and administrative staff, our team’s contract with Mathias Acuna was terminated today.
The ex-footballer, who received his salary and installment in February 2022 even from December, resigned from his contract with AEL for family reasons, he claimed, and after receiving both the salary and installment from February and an amount of €1000 received needs for its staff, turned over the team’s properties to our caretaker and permanently removed them from the AEL area.
AEL even paid for his departure tickets to accept his departure.
Once again I would like to emphasize that in the football department everything changed with the arrival of Goutsidis, Spyropoulos and Nassi and the owners and management were adapted to their desires and philosophy with the sole aim of creating a Greek football team Larissa and Greek footballers and few and notable foreigners in all fields”.
