Chania: ‘The mistakes against us are too numerous and glaring to be considered mere coincidence’
PAE Chania complained in a statement about the referees of the match against Ilioupolis, but also about wrong decisions in their previous matches.
PAE Chania made a statement regarding the refereeing of the match against Ilioupolis in which they won 1-0, shouting about the decisions of referee Andrikopoulos and his assistants. The Cretans protest, remembering decisions from their previous games and emphasizing that they will enforce their rights at any cost.
The announcement of PAE Chania in detail: “PAE CHANIA is in the very awkward position of expressing their anger and bitterness at the refereeing performance of Mr Andrikopoulos in yesterday’s (12/11) match against Ilioupoli. The referee in question almost shaped the outcome of the game with his clear wrong decisions against us. More accurate:
1. In the 62nd minute, as an offensive foul by another player from the scorer, which the opposing players did not even protest, he canceled a normal goal of our team.
2. In the 61st minute, when our footballer clearly and continuously fell through an opponent in a large area, he missed a not very obvious penalty in favor of our team.
We will not comment on our team’s second unrecognized goal in the 67th minute, which was ruled offside by assistant Mr. Triantafyllos (who had a superb angle in the non-displayed penalty phase), not because the decision was the right one, but because of the video did not allow us to document our position. Nor will we go into the phase of the 36th minute, when the other assistant, Mr. Spiliotis, flagged our player offside, who walked towards the opponent’s goal alone while being covered by more than a meter. Nor will we focus on showing a yellow card in the 80th minute because we “tagged” our player to an opponent almost a meter away. We’ve come to the point of not paying much attention to such non-game-changing false suggestions made against us.
For the sake of truth, and so everyone can draw their own conclusions, we’re posting videos detailing all the controversial stages of the game.
It’s the 4th(!!!) and indeed consecutive(!!!) game in which our team has been wronged by the referee’s wrong decisions:
1. No penalty was awarded in our favor with Episkopi.
2. At Kalamata not a single – at least – penalty was awarded in our favour.
3. At Apollon, not only did we lose with a missed penalty, but no player from the opposing team was sent off with a second yellow card.
4. With Ilioupoli, 2 normal goals of our team were annulled and no penalty was awarded in our favor either.
There are many, continuous and glaring errors that defy us to regard them as mere coincidences. Obviously there is a serious issue which we expect KED and its leader Mr. Bennett to investigate and rectify immediately which we will move on to but not for long if the same situation persists to have confidence and consider it as To be considered competent and fair professional and human being. We hope that, unlike in the case of Mr Koukoulas, who was acquitted for his “outstanding” refereeing performance in our game against Apollon, this time KED, after examining the video of the game, will penalize Mr Andrikopoulos, if not his assistants, for his very bad refereeing yesterday.
We are still awaiting Mr. Bennett’s response to our request to meet with him immediately. We also expect Mr. Mandalo, as a prominent member and training officer of KED, to train the referees better so that they do not make such serious mistakes and consequently shape the results of the games.
PAE CHANIA will not tolerate numerous and consecutive refereeing errors, as well as continuous errors in favor of certain opponents. We demand no more but no less than equality and justice for all groups. We remind you that after our fair defeat in the game against Panachaiki, we made a congratulatory announcement on the referee. We will assert our right to the end by any legal means, regardless of cost and in any direction. We are not alone in our quest for a fair and clean league. There are other, many and strong, healthy forces in the SL2 area and in Greek football in general, with whom together we will make the utmost effort so that the already suffering and degraded SL2 league can regain its lost glory and credibility. In the near future, PAE CHANIA will take various initiatives in this direction…“.
