Athens Kallithea – Olympiacos B’: The goal that didn’t count and triggered Piraeus’ departure
Olympiacos B’ complains of two goals scored in the game against Athens Kallithea, first by the home side for offside and then an own goal disallowed for a handball.
Olympiacos B left the match against Athens Kallithea at halftime and protested the match referee.
The Red-Whites initially complained heavily about Panagiotis Kynigopoulos’ 14th-minute equalizer, believing the home player had been exposed.
The match went on and shortly before the end of the 1st part, the second contested phase took place. A cross from the left hit the leg first and then the outstretched hand of Evangelos von Kallithea and landed in the net. The referee’s decision was to disallow the goal as a hand was made by an Olympiakos player during the phase.
