At the same time, a committee has been set up that will request meetings with relevant bodies that can help resolve the championship.

We previously recalled with posts on social media that Super League 2 is asking for their fair subsidy to continue the league and keep football ‘alive’.

The Super League 2 announcement in detail:

The Super League 2 Board of Directors met today 2/9/23. passed the following resolutions unanimously:

  • Continuing the earlier decision to enforce the indefinite suspension of the Betsson Super League 2 Championship.
  • He rejects the slanders against our teams and the category as a whole, stating that for the last three years all PAE have supported their commitments with their own funds, despite promises and commitments to the contrary by the state in connection with the restructuring of the football product Super League 2 .
  • We state explicitly and unequivocally that if it is proven that there are Football Societies – our members who are involved in match-fixing – our first priority will be to initiate proceedings to have them banned from the Championship. The Board encourages all teams to have zero tolerance for such phenomena.
  • We announce the formation of a Committee consisting of the President Mr. Leutsakos and the Presidents of the following groups: PAE AEL Mr. Daveli, PAE Apollon Smyrni Mr. Monemvasiotis, PAE Athens Kallithea Mr. Tsiolekas, PAE Niki Volou Mr. Papakonstantinou, PAE Kifissia, Mr. Pritsa , who will formally request meetings with all relevant authorities that can help resolve the very serious issues that have arisen.

We express our concern that unless a fair solution is found, the continuation of the championship will become impossible, which will mark a black mark in the history of Greek professional football in our country.

Always open to a continuous and constructive dialogue, we hope that even at this last moment, all relevant bodies are aware of the Super League 2 sustainability issues and contribute as much as possible to find solutions so that we can do the mutually beneficial can achieve Both for the state and for us.
