The Evgenakis Law was passed in Parliament
With the votes of the ruling party, the bill presented to Parliament by Lefteris Avgenakis was passed on Tuesday evening. SYRIZA MPs were absent, PASOK and MeRA25 were present, not KKE and Hellenic Solution. What the Deputy Sport Minister said about Super League 2.
Discussion of the Ministry of Culture and Sport’s draft law entitled “Provisions for upgrading the institutional framework of sport and rationalizing sports legislation” was concluded in the plenary session of Parliament.
For the entire bill, coalition MPs voted “yes”, MPs from the official opposition abstained, MPs from PASOK-Movement for Change and MeRA25 declared “present”, while MPs from KKE and Hellenic Solution voted “no”.
The amendment entitled “Granting of voting and election rights to active football referees – Participation of referees in the statutory bodies of the EPO * Allocation of a competition to TAIPED for the use of the NPDD “NATIONAL SKI CENTER OF VASILITSA” and “NATIONAL SKI CENTER OF SELIOU” was also accepted. (ND: yes, SYRIZA: abstention, PASOK-Movement for Change: “present”, KKE “no”, Hellenic Solution: “present”, MeRA25: “no”).
At the end of the meeting, the Deputy Minister for Culture and Sport, Lefteris Avgenakis, addressed the topic of Super League 2 before the meeting of their responsible body scheduled for Wednesday (22.2.): “We will await your decision. We have made it clear that they are returning to their stadiums and the discussion will start automatically so that they too can enjoy the support of the sovereign wealth fund, the permanent support mechanism“.
As he characteristically adds: “We are here to face Super League 2 with courage, calm and transparency and above all with criteria: they are back on the pitches and we are automatically ready to run everything about them“.
