AEL achieved an important win over PAOK B with a 3-2 win at Alcazar on Matchday 17 of Super League 2 Group A in a game that had everything in the first half.
The Maroons took the lead with their first chance through Ogboe in the first minute after a pass from Papageorgiou. PAOK B responded with a well-placed Brandonich penalty in the 16th minute, which Hadjistravos won after tagging off goalkeeper Suluko in the purple.
This particular decision created tension between the people on the two benches, resulting in a brief interruption of about three minutes.
AEL regained the lead through Ogboe in the 19th minute. Papageorgiou took a free-kick from midfield and the tall striker headed the ball into the net. PAOK B equalized again before half-time with Brandonic, with a nice finish from the penalty area in the 27th minute.
In the second half the pace of the game slowed down, but in the final we had the two phases that decided the outcome of the game. PAOK B won a penalty in the 84th minute. Gordeziani took over the execution, but Souloukos stopped him with a nice operation.
What PAOK B didn’t do, AEL did. The Maroons won a penalty in the 88th minute and a minute later Ogboe struck from 11 yards to give the Maroons the three points.
