Another title move for Kifissia, a comfortable victory for Karditsa Renaissance

Kifissia took another step towards the title as they defeated Aegaleos 3-0 at Stavros Mavrothalassitis on matchday 17 of Super League 2.

The path to the three points was effectively opened up when Skafidas caught the ball outside the box in the 18th minute and was sent off with a straight red. Koiroukidis opened the scoring in the 26th minute. After a Mazoulouxis cross from the right and a Gini header, the Northern Suburbs forward sent the ball in with a new header.

Just before the end of the first half, Giorgos Petrakis’ team scored the second goal. After Gini’s shot and Sikalia’s inability to clear the ball, Tetei sent the ball into the net in front of an empty net.

The final score of the game was determined in the 56th minute. Koiroukidis and Tettei combined well, the latter passing to Gini who sent the ball in with a nice placement. Kifissia kept pushing and wanted to score more goals, but the 3-0 stayed until the final.

This brings Kifissia to 43 points, putting him +6 ahead of Apollon Smyrnis and +7 ahead of Athens Kallithea, who is rested in the round of 16. Aegaleo stayed at 20 and maintained his six-point lead over Progressive, who are below the danger zone (as the B teams aren’t relegated).

Rebirth of Karditsa scored four points and stayed high

Anagennisi Karditsa clinched a comfortable victory over Diagoras at home, winning 4-1 and staying second with AEL.

In the ninth minute, Thessalians opened the scoring with Bouza. Diagoras almost equalized with Manias in the 11th minute. Stamenkovic crossed and the experienced striker forced Chelios to make a difficult intervention, which saved the goal from the crossbar.

Iakos made it 2-0 in the 26th minute and scored the third for Pericles Amanatidis’ team in the 47th minute. Politis made it 4-0 in the 67th minute, and in the 72nd minute the guests were content to simply shorten the lead with Parastatides.

With that result, Anagennisi rises to 31 and is 12 points clear of first Panserraikos as he has a game down. Diagoras stayed at 20 and is four points clear of the relegation zone.
