The match between Niki Volos and AEL for Group A of Super League 2 ended ingloriously when the referee decided to call it quits in the 49th minute after clashes between the fans of the two teams in the Panthessalikos stands came.

The game between Niki Volos and AEL for the first group of Super League 2 took an ugly turn when the game (with the score at 1-2 in favor of AEL) was stopped in the 49th minute due to incidents between the fans of the two teams, with the referee deciding to stop it definitively after 50 minutes and the inability to vacate the field.

Maroons fans reportedly took the field after 30 minutes, with tensions brewing between fans of the two teams shortly after the start of the second half, helped by a small police presence to enforce order.

In particular, smoke bomb throwing and hand-to-hand combat, with MAT forces intervening to defuse the tension, but the game was finally abandoned when the stands were not cleared within an hour as requested by the referee.

It is noted that the referee allowed the players to warm up to continue the game, but the presence of 300 Niki Volos fans in the stands and 60 of AEL’s friends led to the final stoppage as the police failed to evacuate the field .
