Yiannis Samaras left Apollo Smyrnis
Apollon Smyrnis announced on Sunday (September 4th) that Yiannis Samaras was resigning from the position of sporting director after five months of working together.
THE Yannis Samaras He left the position of sporting director at Apollon Smyrni, a development that occurred after the Monemvasiotis family left the club.
The announcement of Apollo Smyrna:
“The decision to permanently withdraw the Monemvasiotis family from the administration of Apollon Smyrna leads to developments in a number of issues affecting the team.
Unfortunately, a direct consequence of the upcoming changes at PAE is the departure of Yiannis Samaras and his staff. Yannis Samaras joined our team because of the personal actions of the owner of PAE, who has the utmost respect for him. He was assigned the position of Director of Sports as he is a man who could help Apollon change levels. It came at a difficult time for PAE and while the planning had already been done by other people from the previous summer.
Management failed to provide him with the working conditions he wanted. This was not possible because the field problem affecting PAE was not overcome and the appropriate solution with Erasitpechnis was not found.
In addition, it became impossible to solve the problem regarding the training center as well as the field for the PAE infrastructure departments. All this led to the fact that the team could not operate at the professional level necessary to ensure first promotion to the Super League, and then stabilization in it.
All these permanently unresolved problems of Apollo, but also of the Super League 2 teams in general, put an inglorious end to the cooperation with Mr. Samaras and the possibility for Apollo to raise the level in the organizational and competitive area, to the knowledge of Mr. Samaras .
A sad development for us, but there is currently no solution to the above problems.
We thank Mr. Samaras and his colleagues for the efforts they have made to help our team, we wish them the best of luck in all they do in their illustrious careers and we hope our paths cross again in the future become. We thank them all.”
