Panserraikos 2-0 Veria: One step closer to promotion

Panserraikos achieved their third consecutive Super League 2 win (17th in 20 games) as they beat Veria 2-0 at home on Matchday 22.

Pavlos Dermitzakis’ side took the lead with Bairovic in the 17th minute. After a corner from Mourgos from the left and a header from Papazoglou, Bairovic sent the ball into the net with a tight knee shot to make it 1-0 in the first leg.

In the second half, the hosts scored another goal with Katsantonis in the 59th minute. The Cypriot sent the ball into the net moments after the game started with a well-placed header. Veria had a couple of chances to get something out of the game but to no avail, the 2-0 remained until the end.

With those three points, Panserraikos rose to 52 and has 12 more than AEL with a game in hand. On the contrary, Veria remains below the relegation zone.
