The meetings of the Extraordinary General Assembly of the Association Members of the Hellenic Football Union took place at the Divani Caravel Hotel. Present were the representatives of FIFA, Alessandro Gramalia and UEFA, Luca Nikola and Marios Georgiou.
The General Assembly confirmed the appointment of the judges of the Football Arbitration Court. In particular, he confirmed the Executive Committee’s decision to appoint Konstantina Panagoulis (Chairman of the Boards of Appeal as titular member), Aikaterini Karfaki (Chairman of the Boards of Appeal as titular member) and Ioannas Dampasi (Chairman of the Boards of Appeal as alternate member).
The General Assembly also confirmed the appointment of the members of the Audit, Governance and Compliance Committee (EDSS). In particular, he confirmed the election of the Executive Committee of Dionysia Bitzouni (Chairman), Nikolaos Bourbou (Vice-Chairman), Dimitrios Vasilikos, Christos Lalas and Konstantinos Stergiou (members).
Speaking to the EPO General Assembly, UEFA representative Luca Nicola said:
“I bring you the greetings of Mr. Ceferin and Mr. Theodoridis. I also want to congratulate PAOK on their qualification. From now on I will support him as my team, Basel, is eliminated.
With the implementation of the holistic study, the EPO has managed to make progress in important areas in recent months. Let me address the first meeting of the Professional Football Committee, which we have great expectations of. We want it to be the premier platform for dialogue and decision-making in professional football.
I would also like to congratulate the members of the Audit, Governance and Compliance Committee. It’s another important step you take. This commission will be the internal control mechanism. And the elections for the President of the EPO in June will be held under her supervision. I’m impressed with their resumes and I’m sure they will do a good job.
However, we all agree that there is still a lot to be done. I urge the EPO to redouble its efforts so that we can achieve important reforms in football. You can count on the support of UEFA.
With regard to the Sports Act and the protection of associations, the pending issues have not been resolved, in particular the issue of club registration. When I hear that elections are being held in unions with a small minority of unions, it’s obviously a big problem and needs to be addressed. We have expressed our reservations about these aspects of the law. We have repeatedly asked for a meeting with the Ministry of Sport. Unfortunately, our efforts have been in vain, but rest assured that we will continue to insist that this meeting takes place soon. We are by your side as we support each of our members.”
For his part, EPO Vice-President and General Assembly President Panagiotis Dimitriou called for FIFA and UEFA to intervene immediately with Deputy Sports Minister Lefteris Avgenakis on the issues of the Sports Code:
“FIFA and UEFA should have already intervened and we shouldn’t be living in this unprecedented situation where seven, eight or nine clubs are running in the Union elections. They should intervene immediately and show their strength. Especially where they affect the Unions. “All these issues must be resolved by the end of April.”
In response to remarks by general members of the General Assembly, Mr Dimitriou noted that he is being transferred to Mr Clattenberg not to re-appoint foreign referees in Super League 2, while he was in favor of directly promoting at least two teams from Super League 2 into of the Super League 1.
Finally, the Chair of the EPO’s Audit, Governance and Compliance Committee addressed the members of the General Assembly. Dionysia Bitzouni, On Honor Areopagite said the following:
“I see you all as partners. Taking up my duties is an important challenge for me. Fully aware of my responsibility, I undertake to do everything for the interests of the association. I will contribute to the development of a fruitful collaboration with all the staff of the OP. THE.
My legal experience was shaped by my tenure as President of the EPO’s Arbitration Arbitration Court. He never made me an employee. The judge is never an employee. Difficulties and troubles will not lessen my will to improve the Federation. We will show persistence in following the rules and I ask for your cooperation. To ensure the quality of the dressing. “Football is the king of sport.”

Finally, Simos from the Ionian Bank
Giorgos Simos has left the technical leadership of Ionikos since Wednesday (21/12), with the Nice team’s administration announcing the end of cooperation between the two teams.
Giorgos Simos took over from Ionikos at the start of the season but did not stay at the helm for more than a few months as the Blues’ management announced on Wednesday (21/12) their decision for the two teams to part ways.
“I would like to thank the entire Ionikos family who made me feel like I was a part of it from day one. Of course I would like to thank the players, my partners and the people in the team.”
I wish you all the best, only success and the fulfillment of all your goals”said Giorgos Simos, turning to Ionikos’ family.
“PAE Ionikos announces the mutual agreement to work with coach Giorgos Simos. The coach took over the team at a difficult time, with four tickets fighting to get back on their feet and reach the top of Super League 2, with the only goal being promotion to the first division.
Ionikos’ family feels the need to warmly thank George Simos for the ethics and professionalism he has demonstrated throughout. “Trainers, we wish you health and much personal and professional success,” says the Nice team’s announcement about the end of the collaboration with Simos.
It is noted that after 12 games in the 2nd group of Super League 2, Ionikos is in 6th place and has accumulated 19 points, five less than leaders Athens Kallithea.
