Return to winning ways after nine games for Panathinaikos B’, double whereabouts for Veria

AEL fell short of the three points for the third game in a row as they were defeated 2-1 by Panathinaikos B on Round 24 of Super League 2 at OAKA.

The Greens opened the scoring with Sardelis in the 18th minute by a slim margin. The Maroons almost equalized in the 45th minute, but Andrada’s powerful shot licked the bar for Margono.

In the second half, Sardelis sent the ball to Souloukos’ goalpost with a shot on the move and a minute later the Chestnuts drew 1-1 with Mavrias. Panathinaikos II recaptured the lead with Tavares in the 65th minute and kept it until the end, with the Maroons having chances to take something from the game but to no avail.

Veria scored a great double in Makedonikos’ home game and won 1-0. Belevonis scored the golden goal for Imathia’s team in the 78th minute.

With this result, the “Queen of the North” climbed above the relegation zone with 24 points, while the Macedonian stayed out of the relegation zone on 26 and +4.

The visitors were the closest to the goal, but Galitsi’s shot in the 84th minute was stopped by Tsimopoulos’ crossbar. Heraklis of Larissa has 21 points while Thesprotos has 17 points.
