Alexandros Anagnostopoulos at Sportish: “I enjoyed this promotion the most”

Kifissia gained promotion to the Stoiximan Super League thanks to the penultimate matchday draw against Kalamata in Zirinio.

Alexandros Anagnostopoulos was the guardian angel of Giorgos Petrakis’ side, playing in all their matches and managing to keep 16 clean sheets. The 28-year-old porter spoke Sportish on the team’s course and why he’s enjoyed this promotion more than the previous four in his career.

How do you think Kifissia finally achieved its goal?

“It’s been almost 11 months of hard work, our preparation started on July 15th. The first thing this team did was become a family and that’s where it all started. Then he got a football plan and we achieved what we achieved“.

What do you think were the ingredients and did the team manage to step up?

“The fact that we became a family helped us even in difficult times, because not everything was rosy, we didn’t just have celebrations and victories. The results weren’t always what we wanted. The pressure was huge because we were first all along. The mere thought that you have to be a champion often causes performance and psychology to drop.

We’re glad we made it. It’s a justification for Kifissia, it’s a very healthy organization that starts with the president and ends with the team support staff. Congratulations to everyone, it’s my fourth sup climbhe league and I think this team strives for the best“.

When did you think Kifissia could make promotion to the Stoiximan Super League?

“From the first day I joined the team, but also from the preparation, I realized that this team has metal. I don’t know what we would be presenting on the pitch, but just about anyone stepping onto the pitch to “die” for each other would definitely bring something very beautiful with them.

We were lucky to be ahead all the time. We had a pretty good run early on, we had ten wins and one draw in the first eleven games. That helped us stay at the top.”.

What sets Kifisia apart from the groups in the categories?

“As I said before, they are a healthy team at all levels. Everyone is respected by everyone from the president to the caretakers. Our president takes care of everything, we get paid from the 1st of the month which unfortunately is a privilege for this category. With all these benefits, I see no reason why a kid shouldn’t give their soul for this team“.
