Finally Simos from the Bank of Athens Kallithea
Athens Kallithea announced on Monday (June 19) the end of its partnership with Giorgos Simos, who took over the team in November 2022.
Giorgos Simos will not be on the bench at Athens Kallithea next season as the team announced the end of their partnership on Monday (19/06).
The 45-year-old led Athens Kallithea to 25 games in Super League 2, scoring goals 18 wins, five draws and two losses. The team finished 2nd and missed out on promotion to the Stoiximan Super League.
The corresponding announcement by Athens Kallithea:
“Athens Kallithea FC announce that George Simos has been relieved of his duties as first-team coach.
Simos joined AKFC in November 2022 and this season has recorded 18 wins, five draws and two losses in 25 league games, which saw the club finish second and miss out on promotion to Super League 1 by one point.
AKFC Club Statement:
“Georgios is a talented young manager but we have decided we need to refresh our approach for next season as we step up our efforts to win promotion to the top flight. We thank George for his contribution to our team and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.”
