Athens Kallithea FC announce the acquisition of winger Andreas Vasilogiannis on a free transfer.

Vasilogiannis, 32, is widely regarded as one of Super League 2’s most talented forwards, having recorded 35 goals and 33 assists in 185 league games during his career. He was named MVP in the past after leading Lamia to their first promotion to Super League 1 in their history. Vasilogiannis has played in Super League 1 with Lamia and Corfu, while also gaining experience in Turkey and Cyprus.

Vasilogiannis was born in Patras, went to Piraeus and became a member of the Olympiacos Academy. After manager Takis Lemonis got him a place in the first team and made his debut in the 2007 Super Cup aged 16, Vasilogiannis continued to develop and eventually continued his career with a series of loan stints.

At the age of 19, Vasilogiannis played his first full professional season on loan at second division side Piraeus and made 22 league appearances in the 2010/11 season, scoring three goals. He got his first top-flight experience aged 21 on loan at Super League 1 side Corfu, where he made ten league appearances (four as a regular) in the 2012/13 season.

Vasilogiannis left Olympiakos in the summer of 2013 and shone with his performances in three consecutive seasons at Cypriot top division clubs Chania, Lamia and Hermes before returning to Lamia and helping the team to their first ever promotion to Super League 1, scoring 12 goals and 10 assists in 31 games , team’s all-time top scorer and winner of the MVP title in the 2016–17 season

After his brilliant run in Lamia, ambitious Istanbul team Ümraniyespor “snapped” Vasilogiannis, thereby securing their first promotion to Turkey’s Süper Lig. Vasilogiannis played 66 games for the club over the next two seasons, scoring eight goals and eight assists and scoring during of his career there, the semi-finals of the promotion play-offs, but ultimately could not secure it.

In the summer of 2019, Vasilogiannis left Turkey and returned to Greece for his third spell with Lamia, this time with the club in Super League 1. He made 29 appearances (15 as a starter) in the 2019/20 Super League 1 season. before moving to Chania midway through the following season, where he recorded 15 goals and seven assists in 53 appearances over the next year and a half.

Vasilogiannis spent last season in Kalamata and has now signed for the AKFC.
