Athens Kallithea have put forward a proposal to increase the number of teams in the Stoiximan Super League from 2024/25

Athens Kallithea presented the proposal to enlarge the Stoiximan Super League teams from 2024–25 but also the way the championship in Stoiximan Super League and Super League 2 should be conducted.

Athens Kallithea, through its President Ted Filippakou, presented its own proposal for increasing Stoiximan Super League teams. Specifically, it is about the transition from 14 to 16 teams from 2024/25, which would also take place through the direct promotion of four teams from the Super League 2 of the coming season.

It is also proposed that the 2024/25 Stoiximan Super League will be played with 16 teams, with the champion coming straight out of the regular season and teams ranked 2nd to 6th in the rankings battling for European tickets. Accordingly, the bottom of the table is directly relegated and the teams from No. 11 to No. 15 fight in the playouts, with two of them being relegated.

In this pattern, starting with Super League 2, the first two will be promoted directly from the only group that will now exist (in an 18-game league), while for the third ticket, the teams that finished 3rd to 6th place will advance . In addition, the last four are relegated directly to the 3rd national league.

In short, for the 2024/25 Stoiximan Super League

  • Increase teams from 14 to 16
  • The champion will come from the regular season
  • The playoffs for the European tickets will take place from the 2nd to the 6th
  • The playouts, in which two teams are relegated, take place from the 11th to the 15th
  • The latter will fall directly

In short, for the Super League 2 2023/24

  • Each group should have 13 teams
  • The top two in each group will be promoted directly
  • From the 9th to the 13th of each group you descend directly

In short, for the Super League 2 2024/25

  • A group of 18 teams
  • The first two go straight up
  • From the 3rd to the 6th there will be playoffs for the third promotion ticket
  • From the 15th to the 18th descend directly
