The transfer and new contracts of the Olympiakos B team
Olympiacos presented the B team’s summer transfer, Raphael Sgouros, as well as the new contracts for the players already in the team’s squad.
Olympiacos Piraeus then presented the new contracts signed by the players of the second team of Super League 2.
The Red-Whites acquired Raphael Sgouros from Aris, gave Dimitris Retsos a professional contract and at the same time extended the contracts of eight players who were already part of the lively potential of the Red-Whites’ infrastructure departments.
Specifically, PAE Olympiacos’ announcement states: “PAE Olympiacos announces the contract extension and transfer support of the K23 team participating in the Super League 2 Championship.
A new signing for the team for the 2023/24 season is Raphael Sgouros, who was acquired from Aris. At the same time, Dimitris Stournaras, Apostolos Apostolopoulos, Vangelis Keramidas, Tasos Sapountzis, Michalis Patiras, Christos Mouzakitis, Antonis Papakanellos and Anestis Vlachomitros extended their contracts with PAE Olympiacos.
Dimitris Retsos also signed a professional contract.

Raphael Sgouros
Date of birth: May 28, 2004
Position: Average
He is the only transfer from Olympiakos K23 this year. He was taken over by Aris and competes with the “Red-Whites” in midfield.
Dimitris Stournaras
Date of birth: May 30, 2001
Position: goalkeeper
The Voiotos goalkeeper extended his contract with Olympiakos K23. Member of the “Red-Whites” for several years in the academy and the K17 and K19 teams, while he also took part in the 3rd National Championship with Panionios for a year and was integrated into the Olympiakos K23 upon his return in 2022.
Apostolos Apostolopoulos
Date of birth: 12th of December
Position: defensive
He joined the Olympiakos academy from Panserraikos in 2020 and is now playing in the U23 division for the third time and has signed a contract extension with the club.
Vangelis Keramidas
Date of birth: September 12, 2002
Position: defensive
In one year he will complete a decade at Olympiakos, having started in the club’s academy since he was ten years old. He signed his first professional contract with the “Red-Whites” in 2019 and will remain with Olympiakos K23 for another year.
Tasos Sapountzis
Date of birth: January 28, 2002
Position: Average
Acquired by PAOK in 2019, he has achieved Olympiakos U23 and the Super League 2 championship from a player in the club’s minor divisions.
Christos Mouzakitis
Date of birth: December 25, 2006
Position: Average
New contract also for Christos Mouzakitis, who previously played for Heraklion Attica and AEK. Last season he celebrated two infrastructure championships with K19 and K17, while despite his young age he also recorded an appearance in the Super League 2 championship with Olympiakos K23.
Antonis Papakanellos
Date of birth: July 11, 2005
Position: Aggressive
He has played in the Olympiakos academy since he was 12 and is now a member of the U23 class. He signed his new contract with the “Red-Whites” while he and his youth team were crowned champions of the Super League K19 last year.
Michalis Patiras
Date of birth: May 13, 2004
Position: Average
At the age of 16, he was acquired by AO Xanthis from Olympiakos’ academy while he had played for PAOK and Kavala. He extended his contract with the “Red and Whites”, while this year is his first season with Olympiakos U23 and last season won the Super League U19 championship with the team’s youth team.
Anestis Vlahomitros
Date of birth: November 6, 2001
Position: Aggressive
At the age of 22, he signed a contract for a second year with Olympiacos and became a member of Olympiacos K23. He began his professional career in Lamia, from where he was taken over by the “Red and Whites” last summer.
Dimitris Retsos
Date of birth: July 7, 2004
Position: defensive
He signed his first professional contract shortly after winning the championship with Olympiakos Youth in the Super League K19. By Tyella Agios Dimitrios at the age of 12 he joined the “Red and White” academy and has been a footballer for the club for several years, now reaching Olympiakos K23“.

Dimitris Spanos returned to Ionian
Dimitris Spanos returns home, as is typical in Ionikos’ announcement, and he is the successor to Giorgos Simos in the Nice team.
An old acquaintance is the successor to Giorgos Simos on the Ionian bench and in the Nice team’s attempt to return to the Stoiximan Super League.
The reason for this was Dimitris Spanos, who sat on the team’s bench and made it to the first division in 2020 after 14 years.

The biography of Dimitris Spanos
Dimitris Spanos was born on July 13, 1969 in Aigio. As a footballer, he played in the 1st national team of Ionikos, in the 2nd national team of Atromito and Paneiyalio and in the 3rd national team of Byzantium Megaron and Anagennisi Artas.
His coaching career began in 2005 when he took over the technical management of Anagennisi Arta and from then on he began a long and successful career. He worked in: Agia Salamina, Rhodes, Panachaiki, Panegialeio, Aeolian Mytilini, Ermionida Union, Lamia, Apollon Smyrna, Panegialeio, Ari and Corfu. With Aris he even celebrated promotion to the Super League, as he was the coach who led the Thessalonians to the big leagues.
The experienced technician took over the management of Ionikos in the summer of 2020 and celebrated promotion to the first league. In fact, his first season in the Super League was extremely successful as the team finished 7th and achieved a record number of points in the play-outs. “He left as a friend in January 2023 and is returning to take the team back to where it belongs”!

Finally, Simos from the Ionian Bank
Giorgos Simos has left the technical leadership of Ionikos since Wednesday (21/12), with the Nice team’s administration announcing the end of cooperation between the two teams.
Giorgos Simos took over from Ionikos at the start of the season but did not stay at the helm for more than a few months as the Blues’ management announced on Wednesday (21/12) their decision for the two teams to part ways.
“I would like to thank the entire Ionikos family who made me feel like I was a part of it from day one. Of course I would like to thank the players, my partners and the people in the team.”
I wish you all the best, only success and the fulfillment of all your goals”said Giorgos Simos, turning to Ionikos’ family.
“PAE Ionikos announces the mutual agreement to work with coach Giorgos Simos. The coach took over the team at a difficult time, with four tickets fighting to get back on their feet and reach the top of Super League 2, with the only goal being promotion to the first division.
Ionikos’ family feels the need to warmly thank George Simos for the ethics and professionalism he has demonstrated throughout. “Trainers, we wish you health and much personal and professional success,” says the Nice team’s announcement about the end of the collaboration with Simos.
It is noted that after 12 games in the 2nd group of Super League 2, Ionikos is in 6th place and has accumulated 19 points, five less than leaders Athens Kallithea.

Sokratis Ofrydopoulos is Levadeako’s new coach
Levadeiakos found a replacement for Nikos Nioplia in the person of Sokratis Ofrydopoulos when the Boeotians announced the signing of the 50-year-old Greek technician on Tuesday afternoon (December 19).
Time Socrates Ofrydopoulos and officially for Levadeiakos, with the 50-year-old Greek coach sitting on Viiote’s bench for the remainder of Super League 2.
The former AEK B’ coach replaces Nikos Nioplias, who recently terminated his contract with Levadeiakos.
Ofrydopoulos has not been on the bench since the summer of 2023, when his association with AEK’s second team, which he coached in 46 games, ended.

PAE Levadeiakos announces that Sokratis Ofrydopoulos will take over as our team’s new coach.
Sokratis Ofrydopoulos was born on October 26, 1973 and returns to the Levadeiako family after two and a half years, having completed an important journey in Greek football both as a coach and as a player.
He competed on many major league teams for years while working as a coach with Alimos, Lamia (assistant coach) and Atromitos (academy coach). He had two different terms in Panachaiki and also completed Doxa Drama in the previous two years. He was coach of AEK B. In the final of the 2021/22 season he even sat on the bench of AEK’s first team.
His direct partner will be Nikos Karabetakis. Born on May 17, 1971, he served in Iraklis, Doxa Drama, Agrotiko Astera, OFI, Ialyssos and Triglia, while his last stop was Apollon Paralimniou, which he led and achieved to a historic success last year – as a team from the 3rd National – in the quarterfinals of the Greek Cup.
