Veria – Lamia 1-2: Beharano and Manousos gave Fthiotoi a stay

Lamia celebrated at Veria headquarters and went on to go 2-1 thanks to goals from Beharano 7′ and Manousou 82′, with the hosts temporarily leveling with Pasha in 78′. The Festa players were effective, finding nets in the few stages they made and stopping the hosts’ offensive efforts.

Lamia defeated Veria 2-1 in Imathia and took the lead to stay in the Super League Interwetten play-offs in the face of a rematch to follow in a week at Athanasios Diakos. Gianluca Festa’s players were effective and got the desired result thanks to goals from Beharano in 7′ and Manousou in 82′. Pascha temporarily equalized in the 78th minute.

The hosts found themselves with their backs on the pitch early on and chased after goal, creating a number of chances, particularly in the first half. On the other hand, the guests were mostly behind the ball and threatened static phases, which they took full advantage of.

Lamia took the lead in their first final of the game in the seventh minute. Tyrone fouled from the left, the ball went through everyone and Beharano sent it into the net with a tight header to the second bar.

Veria was better for most of the game and lost good chances to end the game. He temporarily made it with Pasha in 78′. Giakoumakis bit the ball and entered the penalty area, but Saranov caught him. Not so with the top scorer in Super League 2, who made it 1-1 with a powerful shot.

Lamia showed a pulse and took the lead again four minutes later with Manousos. When the guests counterattacked, Karamanos fed Manousos a beautiful vertical ball, which executed Papadopoulos with a powerful shot to make it 2-1.

In the final, the hosts were unsuccessful in their 2-2 final, so next week they will face the wall at Lamia headquarters with their backs to the wall.

He got what Lamia wanted in the first part

The game started with both teams wanting the ball on their feet. Veria didn’t threaten until the third minute, but Fofanas’ header from a Bukouvalas cross didn’t endanger Saranov. Lamia’s quick goal made the Fthioti comfortable leaving the ball in Veria and waiting behind the ball.

Lamia found the goal in his first final and Veria came close to equalizing in the 20th minute. Kache brought Murgos into the box and sent the ball into Saranov’s arms with a weak play. Three minutes later, Beharano threatened a new header against the second bar, but ended up just wide.

For the rest of the half, Veria took the initiative of the trains and looked for the equalizer, but without success. In the 40th minute, Pasha fell and saw the movement of Petavrakis, who entered Saranov’s area from the right. The full-back made the shot, but it was first stopped by Ortega and then Saranov.

In the delays, the hosts missed their best chance of equalizing in the first half. Giakoumakis was defeated by Saranov from a very advantageous position. He then turned but Boukouvalas’ shot was cut off by the opposition defense and then Mourgos’ shot went wide.

Lamia reacted immediately to Pascha’s goal and gained the advantage for the second leg

Veria went into the second half stronger and created a few chances to close the game. In the 48th minute Boukouvalas took a cross from the left and Fofana (as he started in the first half) was unable to head the ball towards goal despite being in an advantageous position.

Four minutes later, Petavrakis tried a footed shot from distance and Saranov controlled the ball and took it from the corner. Pavlos Dermitzakis’ players tried to threaten, but the efforts of Pasha in 54′ and Mourgou in 57′ ended in a corner due to the intervention of Lamia defenders.

Lamia threatened Tzanetopoulos for the first time in the second half in the 64th minute, following an Ortega corner, but Papadopoulos blocked the ball.

Lamia threatened a new static phase, with a crossbar from Lazar Romanic, after a foul by Gencoglu, but the Serbian midfielder was flagged for offside in a peripheral phase.

After the two goals from both teams in 78′ and 82′, Veria looked for equalization again and had a few scoring chances.

In fact, he managed four finals in the final minutes of delays, but Giakoumakis’ shot was blocked by Saranov. Two late attempts by Oikonomou (90’+3′) and Boukouvala (90’+5′) went wide without threatening the opposing house.
