The Super League asked FIFA and UEFA to extend Clattenburg’s tenure as chief referee
In a letter to FIFA and UEFA, the league’s organizing authority called for the extension of Mark Clattenberg’s term as chief referee and at the same time expressed the wish to establish a professional refereeing system, which Super League 2 will also follow.

The letter sent mentions the unanimous will (13 PAE in favor, one PAE missing at the meeting, namely Volos) to implement as soon as possible the institution of professional arbitration, a position that Super League 2 also supports.
At the same time, the letter said that 11 of the 13 PAE Super League members present at the meeting were in favor of extending Mark Clattenberg’s tenure as head of refereeing for the next two years (AEK opposed and PAOK reserved).
The letter also states that the league looks forward to the urgent support of FIFA and UEFA in implementing the above, and stresses that Mr Clattenberg’s current tenure will end in the coming days, while the league begins on 20 June. to begin August.
