Zagorakis: “Working as a team”

The EPO’s new Executive Committee, chaired by Thodoris Zagorakis, met for the first time on Monday (April 5th), while the other members were elected.

At the same time, the first decisions related to the Third National and the return to the stadiums and women’s football were made.

During the first, Thodoris Zagorakis in his first message to all members of the committee called for cooperation to function as a team that wants the good of Greek football and announced meetings with the 55 presidents of the EPS.

“The Executive Committee of the Hellenic Football Association was formed today at its first meeting after the elections on March 27, 2021 as follows.

Chairperson: Theodoros Zagorakis

Substitute President: Panagiotis Dimitriou

AD Vice President: Stergios Antoniou

Treasurer: Clearch Tzaferis

The members of the Presidium were elected with 16 out of 17 votes.

Executive Secretary Iakovos Filippoussis was nominated with 11 votes with an equal number of votes. The representatives of Super League 1 and Super League 2 did not take part in the vote due to a lack of authority from the general assembly of their cooperatives.

Immediately after the founding of the EU, President Theodoros Zagorakis welcomed the members of the new EU:

“I welcome you to the first meeting of the association’s executive committee. I believe that we are a team and we will work together as a team. We have many challenges to face and we have to help progress through football holistic study that contains some good ideas:” I hope that in the near future we will be close to the 55 presidents of the EPS to work together for the good of football across the country. “

The EU then made the following decisions:

– Approved the amended DG National Category Championship announcement. April 11, 2021 was set as the date for the resumption. The championship will be played in one round and will continue from the point at which it was interrupted. For promotion to the Football League, the draws are carried out as follows: Two groups of 5 teams each are formed according to geographical criteria, North and South, in which the teams participate that finish first in the ten groups of the regular season.

These groups have a total of four games and each team plays two home and two away games. The first two of the final scoring of the two groups will be promoted. If a team declares that they cannot or will not continue, the results of the games they will have will remain strong and the relevant CAP provisions will apply.

– Decided to start the championship of the women’s division on April 11th, 2021.

– Approved the extension of the transfer deadline for the amateur clubs until 04/16/2021 “.
