Definitely in the Third National Panionios

The dream of Panionios’ participation in Super League 2 came to an end, which appeared to be happening recently when the team encountered a number of obstacles. The historian could not bear the weight of the Super League 2 and, as the Plateia team announced, the new football season will take place in the Third National.

Panionios’ announcement of participation in the Third National in detail:

From August 13th, when Panionios GS officially received the invitation to participate in the professional class of Super League 2, the board and the members of the club management tried for 30 days in every respect to the admittedly limited time they had use to “carry out” the procedures for the establishment of the PAE, to communicate with interested investors, to take care of the preservation of the reputation and the values ​​of the association against “predators” who were of the opinion to find a suitable soil, to take over Panionios and at the same time to prepare alternative plans for the very likely event that the deep desire of all of us to see the historian in the professional categories again could not succeed.

After the investor in question left last week, it was decided to make one last attempt to mobilize the necessary financial resources to support the creation of the new PAE. Based on this consideration, in addition to contacts to several new interested investors but also “older” companions of the historian, a public appeal was made to the Panionia Coalition to known friends and supporters for assistance. Unfortunately, the circumstances and the urgent deadlines (guarantee and share capital had to be deposited on the 16th of the month and at the same time the registration period for the Third National has expired) meant that the response was very low and the margins have now turned into nothing.

Therefore, it was decided that the team declared its participation in the championship of the Third National Division. This decision was made with two conditions:

First of all, Panionios’ return to the professional categories will of course be a one-way street and will remain the ultimate goal and wish of everyone. However, it should not be implemented under the regime of suffocating pressure that too wrong decisions and the inability to negotiate with the terms valuable to the association as the deadlines do not allow leverage in Panionios.

Second, our participation in the division will come with a structured plan and strategic steps that will not only help the team stay competitive but also prepare the ground for the next day of history in an organized manner. The members of the steering committee and the committees next to the association are already preparing to present their project to the whole world of Panionios in the near future.
