Meliopoulos returned to action after four years at Thyella Katsikas
Dimitris Meliopoulos returned to action after four years with Thyella Katsikas, a team of the 3rd national team.
In 1919, Dimitris Meliopoulos was one of the ‘hottest’ names in Greek football because from the age of 17, when he broke through in Xanthi, he was considered a child prodigy and sealed his good performances with a transfer to PAOK.
But just at the age of 19, the defender decided to end his career and caused a stir.
However, four years after his sudden move, Meliopoulos will once again play for Tyella Katsikas football at the third national level.
As the team mentioned in their announcement, Meliopoulos is a student in Ioannina, which was not lost on the management, who acted quickly, pitching the plan to the former international centre-back and convincing him to agree.
In the men’s league and cup, Meliopoulos played 35 games with 1 goal and 1 assist.
