The referee was attacked in Tyhella Rafina – Ethnikos, two arrests were made
Episodes erupted in Storm Rafina’s game with Ethnikos when visitors’ fans attacked the referee, who was taken to hospital.
Rafina Storm defeated Ethnikos 2-1 in Game 9 of the Third National. However, the game also had episodes in the finale. Fans of the visitors moved to the referee, Aristides Aliaga, hit him, after which he was served 401 GSNA Athens Hospital where he was given first aid.
The referee will write the match report on Monday (31/01) in which he will present the facts of his side. However, two fans were arrested and charged offense.
Ethnikos issued a statement saying that the Piraeus team’s fans were in the stadium under police surveillance and condemned the events.
