FA urges Qatar to compensate migrant workers

The FA has taken a stand on the rights of migrant workers in Qatar ahead of the 2022 World Cup, calling on the country to compensate them.

The English Football Association (FA) campaigned on Wednesday (21/9) on behalf of migrant workers in Qatar, arguing that the families of those who are being displaced during work for the 2022 World Cup, which starts on November 20 and ends in December, have been injured or killed turned 18

Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and FairSquare (a human rights non-profit organization) said Tuesday (20/09) that FIFA’s partners and World Cup sponsors should call on world football’s governing body and its government in Qatar to compensate migrant workers.

“We continue to urge compensation for the families of migrant workers who lost their lives or were injured in preparatory projects,” said FA boss Mark Bullingham.
