Andriy Lunin, goalkeeper of the Ukrainian national team, commented on his victory in the match of the fifth round of the League of Nations against the national team of Armenia (5:0).

– It’s good that today has such a result. It was just what we needed to stay in the game. We knew that the opponent was more aggressive at home than away. Some mistakes happened, they always happen. Playing to zero is important for confidence and peace of mind. He found his moments ahead, scored goals. I think this gives a certain positivity.

– How did you feel before the first goal, when Armenia attacked?

That’s why we work to help at the right time.

– After such a break, it is important for you to study the match. Are you nervous at first?

– Again, keeping a clean slate was important to the team and me. The training process at the club is at the highest level, it’s no secret. The same is true for the national team. Here is the coach Vyacheslav Kernozenko, I enjoy working with him. The mood was great. I’m glad I helped the team in some way.

During the match, you don’t think too much about whether the match has been won or not. You play, you do your job, everything is “on the machine”, as they say. I think the Armenians got a little crazy after the 60th minute, and we took advantage of that. It was important to be fresher than them, to keep the tempo and rhythm.

– What are your thoughts before the match against Scotland in the first place?

– You need to recover 100% to be ready after the Armenia match. Everyone understands what kind of meeting it will be. Set the tough opponent to win.

– Doesn’t this win comfort the team?

– Not.
