Scaloni has agreed a new contract with the Argentine national team until 2026
Argentina’s stellar presence with Lionel Scaloni on the bench meant he was offered a new contract, with the 44-year-old reaching out to the country’s federation to stay at the Albiceleste until 2026.
The Argentine national team is in very good shape before the start of the World Cup in Qatar and showed this also against Jamaica, where the two-time world champion won 3-0 with Lionel Messi as a protagonist and extended their unbeaten streak after 35 games.
A very important role is undoubtedly played by Lionel Scaloni, who has been in charge since November, with the reward coming shortly after the end of the game against Jamaica.
It came from even the most competent lips when the President of the Argentine Football Federation, Tsiki Tapia, announced that an agreement had been reached to remain in the representative group until 2026.
“I am proud to announce that we have arranged the continuation of Lionel Scaloni in the national team until the 2026 World Cup. Scaloneta will go on for a long time.” he said characteristically.
It is recalled that Scaloni already has two titles as coach of the “Albiceleste”, the 2021 Copa America, with which Argentina ended a 28-year drought, and the 2022 Finalissima.
