Denmark protests Qatar through their shirts
Denmark is planning its performances in protest at the human rights violations observed in Qatar.
There are numerous reports of human and labor rights abuses in Qatar, which will soon host the World Cup.
Denmark, in collaboration with the company that dresses it, is protesting Qatar by designing its appearance. In particular, the details, such as the federation’s logo, have the same color as the shirt.
“With the Denmark jersey we want to send a double message. It is not only inspired by Euro 1992, but also a protest against Qatar’s human rights abuses. That’s why the details of the look aren’t obvious.
We don’t want to be seen in a tournament that has cost thousands of lives. We support the Danish national team, but we don’t support Qatar either.” explains, among other things, the designer company.
