World Cup
Six French cities have announced that they will boycott the 2022 World Cup.
The Paris City Council has announced that six French cities intend to boycott the 2022 FIFA World Cup matches to be held in Qatar.
In Paris, Lille, Strasbourg, Reims, Bordeaux and Marseille, there will be no events and usually no mention of the tournament, besides the organization of broadcasts of World Cup matches on the big screens. This decision of the city authorities is an act of protest against Qatar.
Pierre Rabadan, the French capital’s Minister of Sports, said that such a protest was determined by the conditions for holding the upcoming World Cup, both environmentally and socially.
Recall that the World Cup will be held in Qatar from 20 November to 18 December.
It was previously reported on the earnings of the organizers of the 2022 World Cup.
