Spain and Portugal team up with Ukraine for the 2030 World Cup
The candidacy of Spain and Portugal for the 2030 World Cup is now also supported by Ukraine.
New data in the nominations to host the 2030 World Cup, as Spain and Portugal announced with announcements that their candidacy will also have Ukraine’s partnership.
On Wednesday, October 5th, came the official announcement of the two federations, a step that is of course symbolic, since Ukraine has been at war with Russia for 7.5 months.
The official statement from the Spanish federation reads:
“Spain and Portugal integrate Ukraine into the 2030 World Cup bid. The project aims to serve as a source of inspiration for society through football, with a transformative message of solidarity and hope.”
It’s the title in the announcement and the text reads:
“The Royal Spanish Football Federation and the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) have integrated the Football Union of Ukraine (UAF) into the Iberian bid to host the 2030 World Cup. The proposal has UEFA’s unconditional support for a global project and the transformation of European football in excellent condition.
Luis Rubiales and Fernando Gomes, top executives of RFEF and FPF, understand that there is nothing better than a World Cup to convey a message that will serve as a source of inspiration in the future.
With the full support of Aleksandar Ceferin, the Iberian bid integrates the federation under the presidency of Andriy Pavelko to build bridges and spread a message of unity, solidarity and generosity across European football.
The candidacy strengthens ties with Europe, inspiring hope and providing tools for reconstruction to the Ukrainian people, who have expressed their pride and gratitude for their participation in this project.
The Coordinating Committee for the 2030 World Cup, headed by Antonio Laranjo, is already working with the participation of Ukraine, which will soon integrate its delegation members. Ukraine’s arrival doesn’t change the established roadmap: Spain will keep its 11 stadiums and Portugal will continue with three.
The candidatures of Spain, Portugal and Ukraine are approved by both the government and the head of state. and will meet all delivery dates according to the FIFA order book. We hope that the global football family will embrace and support this initiative.
Welcome, Ukraine, to the World Cup! GO 2030″.
We remind you that Saudi Arabia is trying to submit a joint application with Egypt and Greece, while South American countries are expected to do the same. Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and Chile have already expressed interest.

INFANTINO: “If there was no FIFA, there would be no football in 150 countries of the world”
FIFA President Gianni Infantino He commented on World Cup ticket prices, saying they reflected “absolutely insane” demand for next summer’s tournament:
“We have six to seven million tickets and in 15 days we received 150 million ticket requests. So every day we have 10 million requests. This shows how strong the World Cup is.”
FIFA has sold just 44 million tickets in almost 100 years of the World Cup. So we were able to sell tickets for the 300th anniversary of the World Cup in two weeks. Just imagine. “This is absolutely crazy.”
Infantino also noted that funds from ticket sales would be reinvested into world football, but did not specify a specific amount:
“The important thing is that the revenue from this goes back into football around the world. If it weren’t for FIFA, there would be no football in 150 countries of the world. Football exists thanks to the revenues we get from the World Cup, and we reinvest that into football around the world.”
Previously, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer called on FIFA to further reduce 2026 World Cup ticket prices.

Secrets of the Real Madrid dressing room: Kroos told how he got along with Vinicius
Former Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos He talked about his interaction with Brazilian striker Vinicius Junior and other representatives of Brazil within the scope of the “royal club”.
“The Brazilians aroused my sympathy even as a child. While playing for Real Madrid, I developed excellent relationships with Vinicius, Casemiro and Militao.
It is very easy to find a common language with these guys: they know how to enjoy life, and their mentality is significantly different from that of the Germans.
Casemiro and Vinicius and I understood each other perfectly on the field and developed a unique football bond with Vini.
We communicated warmly in daily life. I believe that if there is no contact between players off the field, it is extremely difficult to achieve harmony in the game.
I used Vini’s high-speed bursts effectively and he masterfully directed my passes,” AS Kroos reports.
Let’s remember that Kroos defended the jersey of Real Madrid from 2014 to 2024. During this decade the German midfielder won the Champions League five times.
