Premier League clubs reject Argentina’s request to allow international players to leave early
Premier League clubs are unwilling to heed Argentina national team’s request and allow internationals to miss games of the last game before the break for Qatar 2022 World Cup.
The 2022 World Cup in Qatar begins on November 20, with Argentina playing their first game against Saudi Arabia on the 22nd of the month.
The Albiceleste want to start preparations early, which is why they have asked teams to let the internationals leave earlier.
But that doesn’t sit well with Premier League clubs, who, according to the Daily Mail, will reject the request from Argentina, which wants to sack its players earlier and miss the last game before the World Cup break.
There are currently six Argentine players in the Premier League: Lisandro Martinez and Alejandro Garnazzo at Manchester United, Emiliano Buendia and Emiliano Martinez at Aston Villa, Cristian Romero at Tottenham Hotspur and Alexis McAllister at Brighton.
