Sean walks through the operating room, doubtful for the World Cup
Son’s participation in the 2022 World Cup with Korea is in doubt after he was injured in Tottenham’s game against Marseille and will have to undergo surgery to repair the damage around his eye.
He was unlucky on Tuesday evening (1.11.) or similar Sonwho was substituted off in the 29th minute of Tottenham’s Champions League clash with Marseille after colliding with Ebeba.
The South Korean left the field with tests showing he was suffering the fracture in a bone near the left eye.
The Tottenham star will have to go through the operating room door with the recovery period not yet known. Therefore, his participation in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar is doubtful.

Goalkeeper of the Ukrainian national team Anatoly Trubin I remembered the match against France (0:4) when Sergei Rebrov released the semi-reserve squad.
“It was the coach’s choice. It is always the coach who decides whether the match will be sacrificed or not. If we talk about the challenge itself, we all understand the strength of France. I understood that there could be a lot of shots, there could be a lot of chances, and I was ready for it. When the opponent is always with the ball, constantly attacking, you are always in the game: you play in sections, you react, you constantly feel the rhythm.
For me personally, it’s even easier than when your team is attacking most of the time and you’re standing idle and suddenly there’s a moment where you have to be ready,” Trubin said.
